Dumping into rivers and oceans has become a habit, dare we say it even tradition. These days, checking water health is one of society’s top priorities. This is because manufacturing plants have done so much damage over the decades that rivers, lakes and streams often contain uncommon amounts of Arsenic (As), silver (Ag), cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), lead (Pb), and zinc (Zn).
In large enough quantities these and other substances can turn the ecosystem upside down. The core truth of it all is that Nature doesn’t depend on us, we depend on Nature. To bite the hand that helps us live is not the way to live at all.
